Scott Pynn Verus The World
This is my latest article for Labrador Life magazine, about an artist named Scott Pynn, whose work — a surrealist take on the Labrador landscape — is really something to behold.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone capture Labrador quite like Pynn. It makes me nostalgic in a way no everyday northern lights photo ever could.
And the best part is that the guy has, like, zero pretense, which makes his work feel refreshingly honest and genuine.
I intended the piece to be a standard artist profile, but when I got in touch with Pynn, I learned he’d opened a tattoo shop Labrador City, where he does a lot of Labrador-themed work, so the story took on a different angle.
Story and art after the jump.
